Sources and calculation rules
- Employee: main legal rule one month. Employer: 1 month for less than 5 years of service, 2 for 5–10, 3 for 10–15 and 4 from 15 years of service.
- No probationary period, summary dismissal, special agreement about the termination day or procedural time.
- A different route applies to a temporary contract that expires automatically: notice may be mandatory.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use this for a VSO?
Use the result as a checkpoint. UWV assesses a fictitious notice period for WW; the wording and date of your agreement remain important.
Why does the tool sometimes not show the date?
A different cao, AOW or non-cancellable temporary contract can change the main rule. An automatic month-end would then be misleading.
